Find Correctional Center Releases

To find someone released from Auglaize County Correctional Center, start with the county's archived booking record rather than a live-custody list. A local release may mean return to the community, a court appearance, state commitment, or transfer to another authority. The Auglaize County Correctional Center release record can mark when county custody ended, but the court or receiving agency may be needed to explain what happened next. Matching identity, booking dates, release status, and case details prevents a transfer from being mistaken for complete release.

Correctional Center Release Routes

The Auglaize County Sheriff operates the Correctional Center. Its custody record can end in several ways. A court may authorize bond or recognizance, impose community control, dismiss a matter, or credit enough time to complete a local sentence. A felony sentence may instead send the person to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Another county, federal body, or immigration authority can also assume custody.

Because each path leaves the local roster, disappearance alone is weak evidence. The official county portal may retain an archived row with Release Date and InCustody=N. That pair confirms departure from this facility's recorded custody episode. It does not state that the person entered the community or that no other hold applied.

Confirm Correctional Center Releases

The Auglaize County Inmate Inquiry accepts last name, first name, and booking number. Select Include Archive Records in Search because a released person often will not remain in a current-only view. Open a plausible match and compare the full name, date of birth, booking number, Booking Date, Release Date, and InCustody status.

  1. Use the least ambiguous name or booking number available and include archive records.
  2. Match stable details before relying on a photograph or name alone.
  3. Read Release Date with InCustody. A timestamp plus N marks the end of county custody.
  4. Follow the case number to Common Pleas or Municipal CourtView.
  5. If the record suggests state commitment, search ODRC. If the destination remains unclear, request the Sheriff's record.

The portal's Recent function shows recent bookings, including mixed current and released rows. It is not a releases-only list.

Correctional Center Record Fields

A booking row identifies one stay at the Auglaize County Correctional Center. Results can show Booking Number, Inmate ID, name, date of birth, sex, race, Booking Date, Release Date, InCustody, and a booking photograph. The detail may add booking history, aliases, physical descriptions, and charge rows with statute, bond, case, and disposition fields.

FieldSafe reading
Release DateCounty processing timestamp for the end of that booking
InCustody=NNot held under that displayed county record
Bond Type or AmountRecorded terms, not proof that payment caused release
DispositionA displayed charge field that may be blank or incomplete
Case NumberThe bridge to the proper court docket

An arrest entry does not establish a conviction or final disposition. The Sheriff's inmate gateway also warns about omissions and short processing delays. Use the portal for custody dates and CourtView for judicial action.

Request Correctional Center Records

The Sheriff accepts a public-record request by telephone, fax, email, or its website utility. Identify the person, approximate booking and release dates, and a booking or case number when known. Ask for existing booking and release records, the recorded custody disposition or receiving agency if maintained and releasable, and the booking photograph if needed. A narrow request is easier to process and allows protected parts to be redacted.

ORC 149.43 provides for prompt inspection and copies within a reasonable period, subject to exemptions. Inspection is free. Copies may be charged at actual cost, but no fixed local release-record fee or response-day promise is published. Ask for nonexempt portions and the legal basis for any withholding.

Inside Auglaize Correctional Center

The official facility page states a holding capacity of 101. Its allocation includes male maximum, medium, and minimum security; work-release or inmate-worker space; administrative segregation; male and female medical space; and two female classifications. Capacity describes the facility design. It is not the current population or a yearly release count.

The official county sources did not identify a separate municipal lockup, ODRC prison, BOP institution, or dedicated ICE detention center inside Auglaize County. Nearby prisons should not be labeled local facilities merely because they may receive a person sentenced here.

Correctional Center Court Follow-Up

The legal reason for leaving the Auglaize County Correctional Center is usually clearer in court records than in the jail detail. Common Pleas handles felony cases. Municipal Court handles misdemeanor and traffic matters. Use the jail's case number where available. Otherwise, the county advises trying spelling variations with at least three last-name letters and one first-name letter.

Look after the Booking Date for a bond or recognizance order, dismissal, sentencing entry, jail-time credit, community-control order, termination, or commitment. The date of a judicial act may not match the jail's processing timestamp. Another case or detainer can also prevent a court dismissal from producing community release.

Older material may not appear online. Common Pleas web coverage may omit records before February 1, 2000, while older Municipal traffic and criminal records may be absent before October 1, 1993. The Clerk supplies the next route for older or unavailable files.

Correctional Center State Transfers

If a court sentence or sheriff record shows commitment to ODRC, search the Ohio offender system. County of Commitment=Auglaize means the sentencing county. It does not mean the person lives here. Search by offender number when known, or begin with minimal name details and the appropriate status.

An ODRC status of Incarcerated means the person remains in state prison even though the Auglaize record says InCustody=N. APA Supervision indicates release from prison into state supervision. Released or Judicial Release requires reading the detail. Expected Release Date/Parole Eligibility Date and POA/PRD are projections or eligibility markers, not proof that the person has left.

ODRC applies only after a state-corrections connection. Someone who served only a local jail stay should not be expected in that database.

Correctional Center Transfer Limits

A federal or immigration search should follow evidence, not guesswork. For a sentenced federal prisoner, the BOP locator may show a release date and “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody.” Those labels do not rule out another agency's custody. ICE's public tool has its own identity rules and a limited recent-release window. The U.S. Marshals Service has no name-based public locator like BOP.

Use the federal docket and the actual detention facility for a USMS pretrial case. Use ICE only when a docket, detainer notation, or agency record points to immigration custody. If the county booking simply disappears, return first to the archive, court case, and Sheriff's record request.

Records from two agencies can accurately show different statuses at once. A closed Auglaize County booking and an active ODRC record usually describe a handoff. A VINE Transfer alert also reports movement, not freedom from custody. Preserve the word “Transfer” and seek the destination from the Sheriff if it is not public.

Federal status needs the same care. BOP covers sentenced federal inmates from 1982 forward, while USMS often manages pretrial prisoners in local or contract space. ICE's locator can include only a limited recent-release window. A missing federal result should never be used to rewrite the county release reason.

Note: A transfer is a custody change, not an ordinary community release, even when the county jail record has closed.

Correcting a Release Conflict

When the portal, court, and another agency do not align, first confirm that every result belongs to the same person and booking. Note the source label and date. County Booking Date, county Release Date, an ODRC expected date, and a supervision start date are not substitutes. Short update delays can also make two accurate systems appear inconsistent.

Ask the Sheriff for the existing release record if the county endpoint is disputed. Ask the clerk for the court entry if the legal authority is unclear. Questions about an ODRC sentence record go to Central Records at P.O. Box 430, Columbus, OH 43216. This division keeps each office responsible for the field it maintains.
